About

I'm Jude Briggs. I work with owners who are building.

You've outgrown your bookkeeper. You don't need a full-time CFO. You need someone in between. That's the gap I built Full Cycle Accounting to fill, mostly for law firms, insurance brokers, and dental and medical practices, and for trades and other service businesses too.

Background

Thirty years inside other people's finance functions.

Most of my career was as a Financial Controller: start-ups, ASX-listed groups and global subsidiaries, across Australia, the Middle East, the United States and India. I started Full Cycle Accounting in 2017 to do that work from the outside, and deliberately, to do it with small business owners.

Along the way I was Financial Controller through eight years of rapid growth at a fast-growing online marketplace, secured R&D and export development grants, led cloud accounting rollouts, and helped businesses through turnarounds.

How I work

Three things I hold to.

The numbers serve the business.

Business operations trump accounting every day. My job is to help you run the business better, not to make the accounts prettier.

One person across advice and compliance.

Good advice needs good books. When the same person does both, nothing gets lost in the hand-off.

Owners who are building.

The practice you've built is yours, and you care about it in a way that doesn't happen by accident. Owners who are actively building something, whether a legal, dental, medical or insurance practice, are the people I do my best work with.

Where do you want the business to be in three years?

A 30-minute call is a good place to start working out what the numbers need to do to get you there.
